GENERAL INFORMATION
2007 sees the Association of British Neurologists celebrate its
75th Anniversary.
This year the ABN Autumn Meeting is a joint meeting with the Norwegian
Neurological Society. The meeting will be held at the prestigious,
purpose-built Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Westminster.
Certificate of Attendance
An official Certificate of Attendance will be provided for all registered
delegates.
Dates
14-16 November 2007.
Exhibition
An exhibition is being held in conjunction with the Meeting and
will take place in the Benjamin Britten Lounge located on the 3rd
floor and adjacent to the main session hall. In addition to the
trade exhibits, continuous tea and coffee will be served in this
area and there will also be internet facilities which will be available
to the delegates free of charge. Lunches will also be served within
the exhibition area.

Wednesday,14 November.....12.30 -17.00
Thursday, 15 November.........09.00 -17.30
Friday, 16 November...............09.00 -14.00
Insurance
The registration fees do not include the Insurance of participants
against personal accidents, sickness, cancellations by any party,
theft, loss or damage to personal possessions. Participants are
advised to take out adequate personal insurance to cover travel,
accommodation, cancellation and personal effects.
Language
The language of the Meeting is English
Posters
The Scientific Posters will be displayed in both the St James Suite
and the Westminster Suite located on the 4th Floor. The Main poster
sessions will be held on Thursday and Friday from 12.30 –
13.00 and the Expert Led Poster Sessions will take place from 13.00
– 13.55. Wine and cheese will be served during the expert
led poster sessions.

of the London Aquarium.

Dress : Lounge Suits
A reception hosted by Lord Walton of Detchant will be held at the
House of Lords. The ABN gala dinner will follow the House of Lords
reception and this will take place in the Whittle Room at the Queen
Elizabeth II Conference Centre.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the venue and not immediately
outside the main entrance. As of 13th July smoking is not allowed
in any public indoor areas in London.
Travel
The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre located in the heart of
London opposite the House of Parliament, is easily accessible by
all forms of transport:
By Underground
• Westminster on Jubilee, Circle and District Lines (5 minutes
walk)
• St James Park on Circle and District Lines (5 minutes walk)
• Victoria on Victoria, Circle and District Lines (10 minutes
walk)
By Train
• The centre is within walking distance of Charing Cross and
Victoria Stations
By Bus
• Buses 11, 12, 24, 53, 77a and 88 stop at Parliament Square.
Please follow directions from Westminster Tube station to the centre
By Road
• The Centre is however within easy reach of the A1, M1, M25,
M11, M40, M4, M3, M2 and M23.

• There is no car parking at the Centre however there are

By Air
Heathrow
Take the tube to Green Park on the Piccadilly line. Change to the
Jubilee line and stop at Westminster. Approximate journey time:
1 hour.
Alternatively take the Heathrow Express to Paddington, and then
take the Circle Line tube to Westminster. Approximate journey time:
1 hour
Gatwick
Take the Gatwick Express to Victoria. The Centre is a 15 minute
walk from Victoria via Victoria Street. Approximate journey time:
45 minutes.
Stansted
Take the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street, and then take the
Circle Line tube to Westminster. Approximate journey time: 1 hour.
London City Airport
Take the Jubilee line from the airport to Westminster.
Luton Airport
Take one of the special connecting buses from the airport to Luton
rail station, where trains run frequently to Kings Cross, and then
take the Circle Line tube to Westminster. Approximate journey time:
1 hour and 15 min
Taxis from London Airports
A taxi journey from the major London Airports will take around 60-90
minutes and cost in the region of £60 – 90.00.
